CareConnect: Bitesize UX Workshop Project
As part of a Bitesize UX workshop, my assigned team and I conducted a redesign of the CareConnect website.
The Problem
For security reasons, CareConnect requires users to sign up for a free account before viewing babysitters in their area. This is a “speedbump” for users, and analytics show that many of them drop off at this point.
Hypothesis
Though there are many possible ways to approach this, we believe that the signup page could be an impactful area to improve.
We used insights from users to redesign the signup screen, and test the effectiveness. We wanted to learn collect feedback to inform further designs and more specific tests.
To learn more about what users would expect to see, or be able to do after signing up, we conducted interviews and analyzed interview highlights.
We organized these insights into a few common themes to help us design a solution that addressed the core needs and expectations. These themes were communication, trust, convenience.
We wanted to look at competitors that are upfront and clear on the services and features they provide as well as instill trust in the user to motivate them to sign up.
Since Zocdoc is a direct competitor in terms of having care providers, we looked to see what they included and were inspired by the combination of visual hierarchy of text with bullet points to easily follow features, plus inclusion of a photo that communicates clearly what the service includes.
Rover as a direct competitor for finding sitters as well, but for pets, solved the problem of trust well. Having a hero image with someone caring for two pets alongside a testimonial definitely instills that feeling of trust. We would entrust our fur baby with a sitter from this site. We also liked the three clear feature cards with iconography for clarity.
